Welcome to the Borough of Florham Park, often referred to as "A Community of Volunteers". Florham Park is a small suburban community located in Southeastern Morris County, approximately 30 miles west of New York City. We are bordered on the south by Madison and Chatham Boroughs; on the north by Hanover and East Hanover Townships; on the west by Morris Township; and on the east by the Passaic River, The Borough is 7.6 square miles in size, and has a population of approximately 12,605. Our residents enjoy excellent schools, a wide variety of recreational activities, a beautiful library as well as many other activities such as our Summer Gazebo Concerts and our awesome 4th of July Parade and Fireworks Display.  Florham Park’s convenient location to trains, buses, and major airports, and a friendly small-town atmosphere make it easy to understand why Florham Park is one of Morris County’s most desirable communities to live in. The New York JETS now call Florham Park home with their State of the Art Training Facility and Corporate Headquarters located right here in Florham Park.

Annual Menorah Lighting – December 27th – 6:00 p.m.

The Florham Park Annual Menorah Lighting will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 6 p.m. The menorah is located in front of the Gazebo at 111 Ridgedale Ave. in Florham Park.  The ceremony will be celebrated by spiritual leaders of Congregation Beth Torah of Florham Park, who will lead the community in lighting the Hanukkah candle with the assistance of the children from Congregation Beth Torah's Religious School. Rabbi Shalom Luben, of Chabad of SE Morris County, will also participate in the ceremony.

The lighting of the Hanukkah Menorah is always a festive occasion and we always enjoy the signing of songs and of course the eating the traditional "latkes".  It’s a fun evening for all.   Hope to see you there!  All are welcome!


2016 LEAF PICK-UP SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REGARDING THE 2016 LEAF COLLECTION:

Residents should place leaves on the curb either loose or in biodegradable bags by the Monday morning of the scheduled pick-up week.         

Residents are encouraged to bring their leaves to the Environmental Center on Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. or on Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Leaves must be in cans, barrels, or biodegradable bags to be accepted.  NO loose leaves (tarped) will be accepted. 

NO contractors or commercial vehicles allowed.

A limit of five biodegradable bags will be made available at no charge to Borough residents.      Bags will be available at the Community Center between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. , Monday through Friday.

If leaves are not curbside by the time each street is completed, the DPW will NOT be returning and  leaves will not be picked up.  Once the final collection is completed, leaf removal will be the responsibility of the resident.

Leaf collection may change, be delayed, or be suspended due to unforeseen mechanical breakdowns or inclement weather conditions.

PLEASE DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES MIX BRANCHES OR ROCKS WITH LEAVES.   DOING SO IMPEDES OUR LEAF COLLECTION PROCESS AND CAUSES MECHANICAL BREAKDOWNS.

We  ask all residents to please adhere to these regulations to ensure a timely and efficient collection.


RABIES CLINIC TO BE HELD

The Borough will be holding a Rabies Clinic on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Department of Public Works Garage.  For additional information please call the Board of Health at 973-410-5319.

2017 HEAVY ITEM PICK-UP

HEAVY ITEM PICKUP

Heavy item pick-up dates for 2017 will be announced shortly

Please note the following:

All residents must register the items to be picked up, by telephoning the Department of Public Works by calling 973-410-5330 with their name, address, telephone number and items list, no later than the Thursday preceding the scheduled collection. Failure to call on time will result in missing the pickup, if items are to be added, please re-call and add to the list originally given.  Items that will not be picked up include oil tanks, windows, sliding glass doors, mirrors, tires, propane tanks, construction or demolition debris, firewood, logs, stumps, quantities of fencing, railroad ties or items in plastic garbage bags. No glass, plastic bags, or paint will be accepted and we request that you please separate wood from metal, making 2 piles.

 COMPUTERS, MONITORS, AND TELEVISIONS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED FOR HEAVY ITEM PICKUP (OR WEEKEND DROP OFF AT THE COLUMBIA TPK. ENVIRONEMENTAL CENTER.) 

Appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers or any other items that have a compressor known to contain Freon will not be picked up unless the DCS office has been provided with documentation indicating that the Freon has been legally removed.

(Please check www.njcleanenergy.com to see if a refrigerator/freezer recycling program is in effect, or call 877-270-3520 for information as you may be entitled to a rebate). All items must be at curbside by 6:30 a.m. the Monday of each collection week. 


2016 HOUSEHOLD AND HAZARDOUS WASTE DROP OFF EVENTS

ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER:

The Environmental Center is open every Saturday from 8:00 am until 12 noon.  It will also be open every Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m for RECYCLING AND Grass Clippings only.  Examples of recycling are cardboard, bottles, cans, newspapers, etc.  The Compactor will not be open on Friday's for LARGE household items, i.e. furniture, bicycles, etc.  THESE MATERIALS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON SATURDAY ONLY.  Please remember to bring proper identification or you will not be admitted to the center. If you have further questions regarding these changes, please call DPW Director Frank Esposito at 973-410-5338.


RECYCLING RESPONSIBLY- MCMUA UPDATE

WOOD MULCH COMPOST

The Morris County MUA offers home deliveries of screened compost and double-ground wood mulch from mid-April through the end of September to Morris County residents.  For more information, please click here.

FP HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION LOOKING FOR MEMORABILIA AND PHOTOGRAPHS

Chapter 142. Garbage, Rubbish and Refuse.

The Borough has been receiving numerous complaints regarding proper disposal of pet waste.  Please be reminded that if you own a pet the following applies:

All pet owners and keepers are required to immediately and properly dispose of their pet's solid waste deposited on any property, public or private, not owned or possessed by that person.  Any person(s) who is found to be in violation of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $1,500.00
