In 2008 Chief Patrick P. Montuore became Chief of the Florham Park Police Department.  Chief Montuore believes in the Community Policing Philosophy and promotes the methodologies designed to focus on the building of police partnerships and problem solving policing techniques. The Florham Park Police Department is focusing their talents on the following areas:

• Increasing our ability to impact crime
• Reducing fear of crime
• Addressing quality of life issues
• Coordinating and utilizing private and public resources
• Increase understanding and trust between the police and the people
• Creating a network of assistance and guidance
• Technical support in problem solving and using a more strategic approach toward reducing crime
• Medical and EMS cross training officers
• Senior citizen awareness and safety programs, medical and educational in nature
• Currently seeking State Accreditation C.A.L.E.A “Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies”
